Drivers & Passenger Assistants

Are you interested in giving back to your community? We are always looking for friendly, reliable people to join us as Volunteer Drivers or Passenger Assistants.

Volunteers play a vital role in helping organisations like ours support local people—making it possible for more of our service users to get out and about safely and comfortably.

Volunteering with LCTS is a great way to:

Make a meaningful contribution to your community

What We Offer:
Full training and support will be provided as needed—including PVG checks—all completely free of charge.

Volunteer Driver Requirements:

Valid MiDAS certificate
D1 entitlement on your driving licence
PVG certificate

Passenger Assistant Requirements:

Completed CTA-approved Passenger Assistant Training
PVG certificate

Community Transport Driver

Sessional/Part-Time

Community Transport Driver – Sessional/Part-Time

Pay: £13.10 per hour
Location: Dalkeith and Portobello

Are you looking for a rewarding part-time job where you make a difference? Lothian Community Transport Services (LCTS), a charitable organisation, is looking for sessional drivers to transport passengers safely and comfortably.

About the Role:

Drive LCTS vehicles for the Community Bus and hire services.
Ensure passenger safety and comfort, offering assistance when needed.
Complete daily vehicle safety checks.
Follow the Highway Code and drive safely and efficiently.
Some evening and weekend work required.

Requirements:

A full D1 licence (check your photocard).
Current CPC preferred but training can be provided.
PVG check required (working with vulnerable adults and children).
Friendly, safety-focused, and reliable team player.
